The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Hawthorn to Hamilton – Britain’s Love Affair with World Motor Sport’. Cue a smattering of iconic names from British motorsport, including Mike Hawthorn who became Britain’s first F1 world champion in a Ferrari 50 years ago and Lewis Hamilton, who is well placed to become his successor. ‘Stunning’ Sports car concept teased by Kia
It may be almost Christmas, but car makers are looking a bit further ahead than that with the current crop of teases and expectations for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. Today’s offering comes from Kia, with the first teaser photo of a new concept heading for Detroit. Kia describe their car as a “stunning sports car concept” which has been designed by Kia’s California design team in Irvine, and is a 2+2 Sports Car which, say Kia, will make heads turn and provide superb driving enjoyment on road or on track.
Car Design News recognized the winners of the 2009 Car Design of the Year Award at last night's Car Design Night event at La Sip nightclub in Geneva. Car Design News Editor Eric Gallina presented the winning design teams at Aston Martin and General Motors for the most publicly acclaimed production and concept car designs of 2009, as voted by Car Design News readers in an online poll. The Best Production Car Design accolade was awarded to Aston Martin Design Director Marek Reichman for the beautiful Rapide sedan unveiled in full glory at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show in September.
